Most people want to have a good diet in order to stay fit, healthy and strong. The indications of a healthy body are not just looking fit, it also relies on strength.
There are many dietary recommendations that you can find on the internet today. But if you don't want to be skeptical about these dietary recommendations, you need to know what diets doctors recommend to obtain a healthy and strong body.
According to the news, Kaiser Permanente, the largest Health Management Organization in the United States has endorsed a plant-based diet. You must be aware that Kaiser Permanente has 182,000 employees, and 17,000 of them are physicians.
Last spring of 2013, they released a nutritional update for physicians regarding plant-based diet on their Permanente Journal. The general objective of this journal is to provide awareness to physicians that plant-based diets are the answer for their search for cost-effective interventions to improve health. However, today, most physicians in the United States recommend the Standard American Diet, which has not improved the health of the American people.
Going back to the Permanente Journal, doctors should recommend plant-based diet to their patients. Although, according to the journal, "many doctors are not stressing the importance of plant-based diets as a first-line treatment for chronic diseases" despite the huge amount of evidences that favor plant-based diets. The reason for this is the lack of awareness or lack of patient educational resources.
In order to convince physicians to give them enough overview of the plant-based diet, they have placed their case study, the benefits of a plant-based diet on different conditions such as obesity, hypertension or high-blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease.
The advantage of plant-based diets compared to meat and dairy diets is that it has no or less waste materials. Food is the fuel for our body, and we burn it on order to absorb the nutrients and use it for energy and for sustaining the entire body.
However, some food, despite their contribution for the required nutrients of the body has more waste products. These waste products can produce harmful effects in the body. They also give the liver, pancreas, and other cleaning organs a lot more work. These left-over byproducts can produce free radicals, toxins, bad cholesterol buildup, fat buildup and an unclean colon. The byproducts can result in heart disease, high-blood pressure, diabetes and eventually cancer.
On the other hand, plant-based foods are naturally called "internal body sweepers" most of them are rich in fiber content which sweeps and cleanses the body. The fun fact about fruits and vegetables is that they have little if no waste products. When fruits and vegetables reach the colon, or large intestine they can clean the colon and toxins inside.
Aside from the cleaning effect that plant-based diets can provide they can also produce a sufficient amount of nutrients to fuel up the entire body and at the same time clean the blood stream. That is why more vegans can testify the remarkable effect of a plant-based diet. The bottom line, nature, has already provided for us a complete solution towards a healthy living.
