There is a good reason for us including ginger in some of our Uzuma Green juices; it is chocked full of nutrients and power. We take a look at some of its lesser known benefits.
If you like adding a little bit of spice to your food and drinks and want to become healthier at the same time, ginger is a perfect option. This spice has a unique, rich smell and flavor and is considered one of the healthiest ones. Weird looking, fresh ginger root is actually loaded with various nutrients and can make you healthier and happier.
Knowing about the benefits of ginger, we have added it to some of our juices. They are not only delicious, but also very convenient to use: you can take a bottle of fresh green juice with you and get your daily amount of nutrients any time you want.
So what’s so special about ginger? Actually, almost everything. We have it in our drinks because ginger gives you the following benefits:
If you are suffering from a harsh cold, nausea or have digestion problems, ginger can help you get better. This spice contains many natural oils including ginger-oil: a substance, which is famous for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. That’s why ginger is good for reducing various symptoms of flu and nausea. It can be used by pregnant women and by people who’ve just undergone surgery and need to recover.
Moreover, you don’t have to eat fresh ginger root to feel better: you can dry it, buy a powder made of it or drink it in our juice!
If you work hard or go to the gym often, using ginger can help get rid of the exhausting soreness and muscle pain. Only 2 grams of this spice per day is enough to make you feel better. Though it won’t happen immediately, it’ll still gradually reduce the pain you’re suffering from.
Women periods can be painful, but not every woman is willing to take lots of painkillers during this time. You can replace them with ginger to significantly reduce the pain. It is proven that a woman can take 1 gram of ginger every day if she wants to ease the pain: it can be as effective as ibuprofen.
Various studies show that ginger helps to treat chronic indigestion: it speeds up emptying of the stomach. Even if you don’t suffer from this illness, you still might want to remember this. After all, healthy digestion is good for everyone.
As mentioned above, ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, allowing it to help ease the pain caused by osteoarthritis. It is by no means a remedy on its own, but offers great supplementation. This anti-inflammatory action goes further, also helping with other inflammation-related disorders.
Research shows that adding ginger to your daily diet can benefit you in the following ways:
- your blood sugars lower;
- your heart becomes stronger (and the risk of heart disease lowers drastically);
- your cholesterol levels may lower too;
- your brain functions improve (moreover, ginger is also thought to lower the risk of Alzheimer’s disease);
- your immune system becomes stronger too;
Despite all of these benefits, it's worth noticing that the taste of a fresh ginger root is quite specific. Not everyone finds it delicious and so adding fresh ginger to a daily diet can be a tough challenge. However, we’ve found a way to make it easier (and tastier!) for you by adding ginger to our green juices. Try them if you want to become healthier!
